The Waterfall Mansion is proud to present Ode to Summer, a celebration of the warmest season, on July 24, 2013 from 6-9:30 PM (170 E 80th Street).
The celebration brings to light the Solisti Ensemble and their mission to enable underprivileged children worldwide to experience the joy of music. Through their world-class talent and passion for giving back, this nonprofit organization has touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands worldwide. In the same way the Solisti Ensemble draws crowds to their performances, so does the ceramic sculptor Jaeyong Kim invite viewers into his profound ideations of home. Kim brings his thoughts and narratives to life with ceramic snails and donuts that immediately engage our imagination. As with all of the Waterfall Mansion’s events, a synergy is created by bringing together different forms of art in a lifestyle space to create an unforgettable experience. The duality of music and sculpture, especially, is explored and unified to create a refreshing blend of inspiration. Past performances of the Solisti Ensemble include Stern Hall and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tulley Hall at Lincoln Center, Madison Theater at Molloy College (ensemble-in-residence) and Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Past exhibitions of Jaeyong Kim’s work include Elga Wimmer PCC, Philip Alan Gallery, New Century Artists Gallery, The Stage Gallery, Cranbrook Art Museum, Wayne Art Center, and Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art in Japan. Kim currently teaches as an adjunct professor in the Department of Art and Design at Montclair State University. |
